About the Pool

The pool was built in the 1950’s by the Herrington family and donated to the community, on land that had been used as a local airplane airstrip before converting to residential housing. Members enjoy a large swimming pool with a spacious deck area overlooking Auburn. Our season typically runs May 1 – Oct 15, with limited access allowed in the off season. The pool features restrooms, a shower, BBQ, patio furniture, and shade structure. There is no diving board.

Pool Renovations

In 2024, we replaced pool equipment and resurfaced the swimming pool with fiberglass – which will ensure the longevity of the pool for years to come. The work concluded just in time for the summer 2025 season. The pool has plenty of shade and sun, including two new gazebos, new lounge chaises, umbrellas, and Adirondack chairs. There is also a charcoal BBQ for member use.

About Us

The Swim Club of Skyridge is located in the Skyridge area of south Auburn. We’re one of a very few privately-owned community pools in Auburn. This gives members direct access to the pool without worrying about crowds! We’re family-oriented and welcome those who live in Auburn or nearby communities.

Financials

Membership interests (“ownership”) are paid only once for entry into the club. Costs for memberships can fluctuate depending on demand and at times, the Club has had a waiting list for memberships. For 2024, the Club expanded it’s membership from 30 to 40 memberships and currently does not have a wait list. All members pay annual dues every April 1 to cover operating expenses (water, electricity, garbage, pool maintenance, etc.). Costs of annual dues will vary depending on the number of current members and actual operating expenses.

Memberships

The Swim Club is a nonprofit “social club” established in 1962 under tax code 501c7. This means the Club is governed by a Board of Directors following Club by-laws, and all members have voting rights. Memberships are privately held and may be sold by members or the pool club board. Members are part “owners” of the pool property and have a vested interest in the pool’s longevity. Members make decisions regarding pool expenses and improvements and are also expected to volunteer to help with pool maintenance, which can include tasks like periodic cleaning of the restrooms, weeding, and pool care (the Club also pays for professional pool services).
